  1. Welcome to the ipsProArcade website, We certainly hope that you find the site user friendly and enjoyable. We like most other sites have a few rules. The following list is not an all inclusive list but will most certainly point out the more important rules. As it is not all inclusive, we remind you to review these rules from time to time as they can and more than likely will change or be added to. FORUMS We do not allow the harassment of any member, we like to consider ourselves a family friendly site so verbally attacking, swearing, stalking or being rude to any other member will not be tolerated Review your posts prior to hitting the enter key, do not post anything that you would not want your child to repeat, hear or see DO NOT Spam any of the forums, constantly bumping a post because you have not received an answer, promoting your site or product ABSOLUTELY NO PORN or any other images that would be considered not appropriate for a family site Swearing is not allowed in the forums or any other part of the site, such as the shoutbox. We realize that every now and again there will be a slip, we are not talking about that, but more referring to the continued use of swear words throughout the site SHOUTBOX Please do not use the shoutbox to post problems you are having to get quicker responses. Requests for support in the shoutbox can be covered over by other posts that are made, none of the staff here are online 24 hours a day and it could happen that your request for support goes unanswered because it was never seen. Any requests for support should be placed in the appropriate forum for two reasons, 1) The post will always be there and we all check the forums for any new posts each time we log on and 2) another member may be experiencing the same type of problems you are having and will be able to correct their problem as well. ARCADE NO cheating on games, not quite sure why some find it a need to cheat on a game that you get nothing for if you gain the high score, it is not like a gambling casino where monetary gains are received for getting the high score. If you find a game that is easy to cheat on, letting one of the staff know will allow us to get rid of the game, as it is no fun when you get a really good score and then someone comes along and within a few seconds takes the score away because they use a cheat on a game NO STALKING - Stalking is a matter of one member following another member around and playing the exact same games in an effort to get a better score. This is ANNOYING and will not be tolerated. All scores have a one hour time frame to where, if someone just posted a score, coupled with "fair play" that score is not open for other members to play. We have our no stalking policy enacted on this site and currently it is only for games that have been installed for more than 5 days. New games are currently not tagged with the stalking policy, but if we notice that members are not adhering to the one hour rule, we will tag ALL games with the no stalking policy, except for those that are set as "challenge games" ANTI-HUNTING - Is directly related to stalking. If you take more than 5 games from any member in a 5 hour period you can be banned from playing in the arcade for a time period designated by the site Administrator ANTI SHADOWING - Anti Shadowing is when you continuously follow a member or member(s) around and taking their high scores, right after they have posted it, to alleviate this, anti shadowing is set on this site so that the game is locked down for a period of 1 hour upon a new score being posted (games must have at least 2 scores posted before anti shadowing is enforced) Playing all of the easy games to post a score on, just to climb to the top of the leader board also will not be tolerated. This is ANNOYING and not in the scope of what we here consider fair play you can be banned from the arcade for a period of no less than 24 hours if you are a continuous abuser of this rule. PURCHASING THE ARCADE If you are looking to purchase the arcade for your site you need to perform the following Click on this to go to the subscriptions page https://ipsproarcade.com/index.php?/subscriptions/ There are 3 choices Standard VIP member this is for those users who were not a VIP on our old site (3dogsarcade.com) Initial cost is $35.00 and a recurring payment of $15.00 every 6 months VIP+ This option is only available to those who were VIP members on our old site, if you select this option and were not a VIP member of the old site, we will change it to the standard VIP option VIP++ Can be purchased by any member and will give you unlimited arcade updates and unlimited downloads of all games on the site

  2. I remember a few short years ago when flash was "on it's way out" and everyone was wondering what we were going to do about it. It seemed we were all in P A N I C mode. So today I want to give a HUGE thank you to all those who had a hand in converting HTML5 games to work in our style of arcade Origon Thunder FanFan Logan Rowdy Wulf - who not only converted some games, but also took it upon himself to learn how to create them from scratch Just to name a few, and for all the others who have been converting games as well. Out of curiosity today I checked to see how we have done since the first HTML5 game out, and, at least on this site, we have almost 15,000 HTML5 games and a little over 14,000 flash games. There are quite a few games that have been split up in various levels and that would account for a number of games in the HTML 5 format, but still a worthy addition from "what to do now" to "Holy crap" I did not know we had that many. So once again a tip of the hat to all those who have helped us keep online games running and showing us that it truly is not over when you think it is

  3. I would like to give my thanks to a few people who were instrumental in getting the ruffle server side implementation to working as it does now I would like to thank @Logan for figuring out where to put the files on the server and the first iteration on where to insert the script file to call the ruffle files so that the flash games would work I would like to thank @bosss for helping me figure out how to insert the .htaccess file in the correct place so that there is no need for those that feel uncomfortable adding anything into configuration files on their server, do not have to This has been a learning curve for all of us and with the help of a few friends we finally got it to work the way it was intended on the server side. In the, hopefully, not so far future the team at ruffle will figure out what the problem with AS3 is and we can all go back to enjoying all of the flash games that we did when the adobe flash player was active. Until then, we will all have to adapt and learn to play those games we are able to, and wait for the day when they are all, once again, playable flash games

  4. I have noticed as I make my way around the internet just how many people are helping others try and keep the flash games going, both with AS3 and just the standard flash games. It is good to see that much help to others, I tip my hat to all who have been or try to be instrumental in this task

  5. I grew up alot of my young years in Colorado, the skies are bluer and the mountains are so grand. The town was very small it was more like rural with houses really separated, mostly horses and all the barnyard of animals.. I belonged to a Horse club and we did precision riding, I was in it from 6th grade to 10th grade. When I was 15 we moved to the country in Alabama ....i was shocked at the humidity, my hair went from long to short and curly. We moved our livestock and all the critters across country and it was hard, my dad's truck broke down and we have live animals and there are 2 semi trucks and 4 pickups that came to a stop. We called the chamber of commerce and they found a farm were we could take the animals and let them graze and feed. It was 20 minute drive from town so we didn't go often, there was a movie theater and a pinball arcade and that is about it for fun. I took voc tec in high school and had welding, I was the only girl to have ever taken welding. I had a wonderful childhood I did barrel racing for a year and loved it, my family is great and life is good.

  7. As we enter into the 21st year since the attacks on the World trade center in NYC, I can still remember it like it was yesterday. I was just outside of Harrisburg, PA holding a training class for the Pennsylvania National Guard. I had just finished my part of the class and had gone to the break room to get something to drink and noticed there were quite a few soldiers staring a the TV. I jokingly asked if they did not have anything else to do and was told they were watching the attacks on the World trade center. Of course, I thought they were joking and sat down to see what was going on, and found out rather quickly, it was NO JOKE! I sit here today and think how it took a tragedy to make a country, a country considered to be one of the most powerful in the world, to come together as one, no mud slinging, no hate crimes just a country trying to understand what had happened. Why does it take a tragedy such as this for people to unite as one. The theme was and still is "We shall never forget" but seems as though how many of us have forgotten what it was like on that day as today we stand as a country divided, mud slinging on the news everyday and a country that now sees crime is worse than it has ever been. Why does it take such a tragedy to become a united country

  10. All I can say is 'Ditto' to what everyone has said so far. Ipsproarcade is the best of them all, it's purely down to the cost of hosting these sites, donations are far and few these days especially with what is going on around the world in general. I would sooner pay for the arcade we have now than have a free one that doesn't meet the standard we have now.

  11. I'll be honest, the arcade here is great. There is nothing like it at the moment. The admins here are great too. You are doing a great job. The arcade has potential and there is still room for improvement. You can add a lot, which of course takes time. Develops add-ons that cost a little, they want to buy them too. E.g. subcategories, bounty hunting, tournament announcement for the forum index etc. ...

  12. I have had the best gambling den with the forum software WBB 2.3.6. The gambling den was from a German coder HopfenSchlodel. When creating the gambling den, the developer planned years in advance, he has integrated HTML5 for years, but unfortunately never expanded it. The gambling den had so many options and could do it all. Unfortunately the forum software WBB 2.3.6 will not be further developed, otherwise I would still be there and have a great arcade. Then I wanted to be on phpbb 3's and was the last of the garbage. VB5 didn't have a nice arcade. I will continue to consider whether I should continue upgrading IPS. The plugins are slowly becoming very expensive. The problem is that you want to offer something, but nobody uses it.

  13. I can't give any good suggestions. IPS is great software, but that is as far as it goes. I have been with them since before 2008. I have seen the switch from forum communities, to business ventures. However, I think they are going to fall flat on their faces before long. The giant WordPress blog is taking over the business sector from IPS. They upgrade too much, nearly each upgrade breaks things, which has led developers to realizing there is a cash cow in charging high prices for mods that were once free, and then tacking on 6 month renewals for upgrade support for the mods. You can't find free themes hardly. This arcade is the best I have seen. The ONLY reason I use IPS, is to host my own community, so I don't have to deal with ads, and have total control over a reliable self downloadable database and my complete backups of the forum structure. There is no way to thank you, and tubesock for the work and resources to bring the arcade to those that want to have one.

  22. This poll has been generated to find out if we really need all of the single level games that have been broken away from the "complete" game. The single level games get abused quite often in the sense that some players will use these games to charge up the leader board, making it unfair to other players who do not have a chance to gain that title of Champion. Personally I find it annoying when players do things like that but that is my opinion. I have been trying to instill fair game play on this site for some time now, yet it seems that the only way I can members attention is by turning off all of the single level games and then, all of a sudden, everyone hears what I am trying to say. SO because this site is built to house an arcade, I am leaving it up to the members to decide on how they want the arcade outfitted with games. Remember the majority speaks so get your votes in and whatever is chosen will remain that way, so make your vote and live by it as their will be no changing back A NO vote means you do not want ALL members to have access A YES vote means you want ALL members to have access

  28. Ok, let me explain, this is what the users see https://ipsproarcade.com/index.php?/profile/904-v0rt3x/badges/ On the left you see the ranks. For example you get the contributor badge for 250 points by default, but you can change the number of points. In Rules in your AcminCP you can set how many points you get for which action. When a content item is posted 20 points, when a comment/reply is posted 1 point and so on (you can change that too). And because every community is individual, there is no list on IPS, you see everything in your ACP anyway. So your rank is based on all the points you get from different actions. In the past and on other forums the users climbed up in their rank only with postings. So spammers usually got a better ranking than more quiet members, even if they post better content. You can reward those by giving them more points when their post is marked as best answer, or whatever. A little bit complicated to explain, just take at the rules by yourself. Then there are the badges that can be given for anniversaries, like 500th post, 1 year membership and more. And last but not least there are individual badges that are not given automatically, you can reward chosen members manually with whatever you want, you don't need to create rules for that. Like already said, it's not easy to explain, especially when english is your second language, but if you have any questions feel free to ask.

  29. The only reason why i ma still on IPS is your arcade. IPS become money hungry and problem is that you must have all sofware and apps and plugins latest versions - you can not download your (our) paid files and not at all some versions before. Should recommend @tubesock and @Legionaireto try make arcade for vb5 (all mods and very useful plugins are free) and you can download them. Already made vb5 site to make some tests and soon will move (with arcade) Maybe also downgrade to 4.4.10 (worked fine and have all plugins and apps on harddisk!

  30. I have been with IPS since around 2007. I have always liked and enjoyed IPS, we use to have access to quite a few free mod.'s now applications and plugins. But during the last few years IPS in getting to big for there britches, the applications and plugins are outrages with there costs. I just put out way over a hundred dollars, CND to USD, for Commerce and it comes direct from IPS and they do not even install it for you. I am not good at using the FTP so I had to hire it done. Seems like all we do is pay and pay, like every 6 months and whole pocket full of my money goes out. With the hosting I am going broke, I am a senior on a limited pension. I do this for the enjoyment I see others having. I have used and still do use SMF, I am friends with quite a few of the people who run SMF. I have been a Beta Tester for SMF 2.0.18 and SMF 2.1RC3. Yes most I'd say 99% of SMF is free to download, including plugins or mod.'s and theme skins, there are some coders on there own who develope mod.'s and sell them, but far and far you can get a free one to do the same. I am also good friends with Chen who is the developer for SMF Arcade, I also do Beta Testing for the SMF Arcade 2.6.5 RC-6 upgrades as they come, these are not released to the public, but I do have two other SMF forums using this arcade. I have worked with Chen, and had him add HTML5 games, he has also added Ruffle to the arcade. It is a good arcade, plays all the same type of games we use and enjoy on our arcade forums. I have been bugging Chen to add features to the arcade so he can have some competition. I have asked him to add features like Game of the day, Game of the week, Game of the month, Challenges. His arcade does have a feature called the Arena, where you can challenge others. He says someday he try to do this.. SMF Arcade is a good arcade, but no where near as good as the ipsProArcade is. This is by far the best arcade I have seen and used. phpBB has an arcade but the guy who holds it is a nasty guy, and you must be invited to join his forum. So in my opinion, due to Legionaire and tubesock we have one hell of an Arcade going, could it be better, of course but with time it'll get even better. It's just that how many of us can hold on the IPS much longer. My 2 cents Ron.

  31. Thank you Marco for your feedback, it is much appreciated. VBulletin is considered the #1 choice for forum software but, as you said, there is currently no Arcade software for VB5 and VB4 arcade is no longer being developed by dragonbyte but Stangger still has a functional VB4 arcade that is pretty good and is available to download from the vbulletin.org website although to get the most up-to-date arcade for VB4 you would have to get the addons that stangger has incorporated from him and I do believe there is a cost involved. I will let Stangger comment more on that. PHBB has a good arcade but the one who codes it has a bad attitude and because of that I have not followed that software in a few years now SMF has a pretty good arcade and I am sure that the developer will adjust his software if what you are seeking makes sense to add it in his script. Very nice coder who will listen to your comments. The SMF software is FREE and so is the download of the arcade, I believe there are some PAID and FREE addons for the arcade as well I am a believer in tubesock and THANK him for all of the current work he has put in and will stay here to see what that future brings. I am not leaving IPS and the arcade we have built, just trying to get a feeling on how everyone else feels about IPS and their marketing techniques base on other forum software that is available and how our members feel about the arcade tubesock has built here (please keep in mind this was a complete rebuild from 3.4 to 4.x)

  33. The only thing I am finding about flash and windows is that windows is removing anything to do with the adobe flash player and it does go on to say that Web assembly will be allowed and that is what ruffle is. Ruffle is a flash emulator that uses web assembly to make the SWF files still work, or at least that is what I am reading
    2 points
  34. Please keep in mind as ruffle is still under development that you WILL have problems with flash games made with AS3 (Action Script 3) you will more than likely get a notice that the game contains Action Script 3 and is not yet supported by ruffle

  35. I played a couple of flash games on my forum using MS Edge, all worked well and kept the score. I had a member tell me he played some flash games also on my forum using Chrome browser So, is flash dead or what? I have been also using Palemoon as well as some of my members. What I find with Palemoon it increases the CPU As for Super Nova, well I found this to be a bad source, it keeps telling me the game is not compatible with Super Nova, so it can't play the game.. Time will tell, we'll come up with something that works.

  36. I have been doing some testing on what are being called "flash alternatives" such as ruffle, pale moon (the browser) and Super Nova. Here is what I have found about each one (at least currently) RUFFLE - This one shows a lot of promise but still heavily under development Plays games well Does not capture the score needed for the arcade to submit Provides nightly updates (if there are any changes) SUPER NOVA - Cannot get this one to run efficiently enough to call it a viable source (at this point) PALE MOON - This, in my opinion of course, is the most reliable of all the current alternatives, flash works well both in playing games and capturing the scores needed to submit to the arcade Of course all of this testing has been completed prior to the "NOW" cutoff date of 01/12/2021, so only time will tell which one takes the lead and runs efficiently for sites to use in our situation and that is with the arcade IF anyone has anything to add, please feel free to put in your comments so that we can all learn and grow together

  37. Thanks for your purchase Joel, please send your site information on where you want to install the arcade to tubesock (in a PM) so that he can add you into the allowed list and he in return will send you a PM with the arcade attached, once you have been added then you will be able to download from the VIP forums like everyone else
