Game Downloads

Featured Replies

Because some site owners are selling games on their sites, it has been requested that we NOT allow downloads on certain games, below is a list of the requested games that are no longer downloadable.  We will add to this list if any other requests are received, sorry for the inconvenience.

  • WULF Games - to download these games you must visit his site (I FULLY support this request as Wulf is the original creator of his own games)
  • Thunder Games - to download these games you must visit his site

Currently, ALL DOWNLOADS have been turned off until I can figure out what is going on, not sure anymore who is allowing downloads and who is not, I thought we had this all settled and NOW no one wants their adapted games to be downloaded.  I am about to give up on this whole mess, what a world we live in :classic_rolleyes: I thought we had an agreement that adapted games were not the property of any single person as they did not originally code the game, they only adapted it to be used in the various arcade platforms, but NOW! I am not even sure anymore.

As a games "adapter" I struggle to understand the reasoning behind limiting circulation... I admit I have not been a fan of selling games by any arcade and have found the subscription plans to be a little dubious as to their "legality." Any games I have adapted have been offered to the community and converted purely as part of my hobby of online arcade operation. I suppose if something I have converted has been offered for sale by someone it may come back on me, but I don't know...  So as far as I'm concerned - I guess I'd have to state for the record - I don't care if someone makes money on any game I have adapted; I certainly don't want any money for the effort... It's all about the fun-of-it.

You can allways have my converted games up for download, i would not even think off taking money for any games, it's not my games, i have just made it posible to submit score on our arcade, but i know who started all this.

This would have been much clearer if when people payed a Coder for D/Load Permission they were told " D/Loads are for use on your sight and are NOT to be made available for D/Load by you " Then we could have all decided if it was going to be worth the payment .

At this rate the Only Arcades will be owned by re-coders .

Just my normal Jack Daniels thought's on this lol

I thought all games should be downloadable. Those who recode the games have not sought permission for this at all.
And that they then think we will pay money to download these games.? No, we do not want that.
I even turned off game downloads on my arcade.
Since I have no permission to forward these games.
I already thought several of the games, contain commercials, it is he who has recoded who gets these commercials money. Fair enough, but will not pay for downloading the games.
Since people have recoded these, no one has permission to recode on the games.
I then acknowledge that it is great that someone is recoding these games for us. But to take money for it. No thanks.

I will open up as many games as I can for download, I only closed them all off as it seemed that was happening on all sites

If it becomes very common to take money for the games, it ends up that everyone who publishes games encrypts their games, then it is over to convert games for everyone, and those who take money for the games risk a large fine, as they are selling something that is not their own

I agree with you Kenneth, even those games (not many of course) that I adapted, I really never cared who was allowing them for download, it was all part of making an arcade successful.  If you have NO games what good is an arcade :surprise:

Legionaire you are different my friend as I payed this site for the license of the Arcade ( not that I have opened one yet ) The Games you supply came as a bonus .For which members of many sites are Very grateful . THANK YOU !

Also Thank you goes to both origon and masodo so far ( hopes for more to say theirs can be used )

I see a certain member (who I have on ignore for ANY and ALL posts they make) has attempted to add something to this conversation.  I do not care what they have to say, I have been burnt one too many times by this member and their input means nothing to me :rage:

Why fanfan, it's not your games, you have just made them to submit score on the arcade, non of us have used many hours to make the games, and to be honest we do all steal the games from the author, so i don't think we have the right to claim anythig about the games.

Unfortunately you do not allow download your games on your site - at least I am affected by it.

I think we all agree that we're talking about donating, not buying games. For years I have donated to the DL in various forums, where only games were offered that the admin hadn't done anything himself.
In my opinion, anyone who takes the trouble to adapt the games for the arcade deserves a donation (we're only talking about small amounts) as recognition.

Donations I agree with, but some have required that anyone downloading the games from your site must also pay a donation and I am not sure I agree with that.  As I pointed out to Oak, I do not charge for game downloads here, everyone has access to download games, some are restricted to how many games they can download per day, but anyone can download games.  I personally do not make any money off of people that want to download games.  If you purchase the arcade, you get unlimited game downloads per day as a "perk" if you will for spending the money on your purchase.  Not everyone uses ipsproarcade as their platforms, but they can still download games from here.  Also, as do most of us, we bare the cost of operating an online arcade (i.e. server costs, maintenance etc..).  I respect the fact that Wulf has begun coding his own games, and because he is the author of the games when he asked for me not to allow downloads of his games I immediately complied, but for those who adapt games it is a little different as those games do not belong to the "adapter" so it is a very fine line and a line that has become a highly debatable topic.  We as a community should be able to figure this out where both sides are happy with the outcome, problem is, what is fair ?

Hello. you did not understand. I no longer want my adapted games to be downloaded. thank you

  • Problem #1 - The arcade:  You now have an arcade, where do you get games from without becoming broke in the meantime ?
  • Problem #2 - The games:  There are plenty of sites that allow downloading of games, the problem here begins with sites that charge you to be able to download games, and this is a very fine line, there are those sites that do a tremendous amount of work that ask for donations to cover their time in adapting the games for arcade platforms to use and then there are those sites who charge for games that do not own the games, nor did they do the work in adapting games that they are charging for.
    • Adaptation of games takes time and effort, I know as I have done some game adaptations.  How do we come up with a fair compensation for those that do this work, having every single person that downloads a game, pay a donation I do not think is realistic, so what is the FAIR compensation for those that do the work ?
  • It would be interesting to see what those of you think would be a good resolution

I give up I'm not asking for money just not to download the games. I stop everything. Thank you

All my 56,942 game were free to all to download, with no limits.

I was asked by a coder to stop downloads of their games, I respect this, and so did stop downloads. In fact I thought it was of best interest for all coders, if I stopped downloads from their categories.

Until all of us can resolve this serious issue, I will reopen all my arcade games for downloading, but the ones by request, will remain, non downloadable.

If any arcade owner, ever thinks he/she will make money from donations, I think they are delusional. Since my opening of the arcade forum, I am in the deep hole. Only ones making money are IPB and there modder's.

I have to give credit to oak (Glenn) if it were not for Glenn buying games from most arcade owners, we would not have as many games to share with others. Yes Glenn has put out a lot of money to purchase games.

I feel all games should be free for downloading on all arcade forums, called sharing, helping others.

I agree  with all you have said here Ronald, we don't need a war about games.

Agree with @Ronald and @origon and YES - We must help each other and stay together and try make arcade better with @tubesock and @Legionaire help! We have best arcade application in our forums for our users/members and should be happy for that. Att share games (for me) is something human .
