I don't know if that's the way it should be, but if you are in the upgrade of the game and you "buy" an upgrade, you can't continue playing. Then the game will automatically submit while you want to continue playing. If you want to continue playing you have to restart the game. If you "buy" another item you will not be able to continue because it will be automatically submitted.
It often happens that if you have "shot" an animal, it will submit the game immediately. In order to be able to continue, you have to start over again.
