Noticed this month less seem to be playing the arcade if high score count anything to go by?

 

Personally not a fan of the one month reset as this encourages just setting scores as opposed to setting competitive scores (for this I am guilty but when in Rome on that one) the longer the time between reset's generally the more competitive the scores in my experience.

 

As far as attracting more users to the arcade im unsure but it might be a false observation on my part.

Thanks for your comments and observations.  Most members that come to the site are here to download games and or grab updates to the arcade.  We used to not reset as often as we do now, but when members begin running up scores just to be at the top of the leader board this tends to chase away players as well as they really have no hope of obtaining a place with the leaders, or maybe they do not play games as well as others, or do not have the time to play as much as others.  Whatever the case may be.  So we settled with every month, resetting the scores to provide others a chance to grab their "10 minutes of fame" if you will.  We do have a number of players that do come in most every day and play games, but as stated above, time may not be something that they have a lot of and therefore do not stay for extended periods.  I have noticed however that the gaming seems to pick for a little while when a reset has been conducted

Agree there that reset's always bring people back to the site but i'd guess on most sites only about 20% remain for sometime after.
